PMW’s XR in-wheel motors use a brushless permanent-magnet external-rotor architecture, placing torque production around the outside of a thin pancake-shaped motor. Integrating the motor within the wheel reduces the need for separate transmission shafts, belts or bulky central drive assemblies, leaving more internal volume for batteries, controllers and payload equipment.
The wider range includes frameless motors, conventional pancake motors and integrated geared actuators for applications that need different torque, speed and packaging characteristics. PMW designs, manufactures and tests systems in the UK, supporting customers from prototype development through application-specific qualification and series production rather than offering only catalogue motors.

- 2025-06-03 - Partnership - PMW Dynamics supports Benedex Robotics AGRI X4 motor integration
The AGRI X4 combines PMW motors with Benedex EPIC drive controllers for its all-terrain wheel-drive system. The autonomous orchard mower uses six high-efficiency motors across traction and its modular mowing equipment. PMW supported motor selection, system design, integration and testing for dusty, uneven field conditions.
