• 2026-10-21 - Partnership - Einride expands NVIDIA collaboration to evaluate Alpamayo for autonomous trucks

  In shadow mode, Alpamayo outputs will be compared with Einride’s planner and human drivers while existing safety systems retain vehicle control. The work uses Einride’s operational freight data to post-train and distill the driving model. The evaluation extends the Hyperion collaboration announced on 21 September 2026.

• 2026-10-06 - Deployment - Einride trucks enter daily driverless freight service with EASE in Ohio

  Two cabless Level 4 trucks use EASE property and local public roads, with an off-site operator monitoring each vehicle. Operations began in September and are collecting safety, reliability and efficiency data for the Ohio–Indiana Truck Automation Corridor project. Miles, loads and uptime from the service will inform the next deployment phase and potential regional expansion.

  The work extends Hyperion’s compute, sensor, software and safety architecture to heavy-duty trucking requirements. Einride will use NVIDIA Halos, Cosmos and Blackwell infrastructure for safety engineering, edge-case data work, simulation and model training. Einride expects its freight network to reach 1,500–2,000 vehicles by 2028 based on captured demand and estimates roughly 80% of that demand is suitable for medium-term automation.

• 2026-09-15 - Deployment - Einride and Lidl begin driverless freight operations in Germany

  The truck runs daily between a Lidl distribution centre and a retail store, and the partners plan to expand the route into a multi-stop "milkrun" delivery network. Germany's Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA) issued the permit, the first authorization of its kind for a cab-less heavy truck in the country. Further deployments across other divisions of Lidl's parent company, the Schwarz Group, are under discussion.

  The phased rollout begins in September 2026 and runs for 24 months across freight corridors in California, Texas, New Jersey, Illinois and Georgia. Einride says the 500-truck addition will roughly triple its deployed electric-truck fleet and convert signed shipper contracts into revenue-generating capacity. The autonomy relevance is Saga AI fleet orchestration and optimisation; the announcement does not describe the Tesla Semis themselves as driverless or autonomous vehicles.

  Interface definition and validation begins in 2026, followed by software integration and commissioning on a DAF vehicle in 2027. TNO will support vehicle-interface testing and type-approval work as the partners prepare the combined platform for commercial use. The programme targets SAE Level 4 freight operation, extending an existing relationship that previously covered DAF electric trucks in Einride's fleet.

  Two cabless Level 4 electric trucks are planned to carry goods between EASE warehouses on company property and local public roads. The proof-of-concept extends the Ohio–Indiana Truck Automation Corridor Project to evaluate safety, freight efficiency and operating impacts. An off-site remote operator will monitor the trucks and can intervene when required.
