About Simpl Automation
ADAPTIV ASRS is designed to automate warehouse storage without requiring a purpose-built building or proprietary rack structure. Mobile robots operate on or around standard racking and can be configured for person-to-goods, goods-to-person or vertical-lift workflows. Double-deep storage and flexible system height allow the installation to use available floor and vertical space within existing facilities.
SIMPL begins with the customer’s inventory profile, order flow, rack layout and throughput requirement, then selects the robot and presentation method for each zone. A brownfield site can introduce automation in stages, preserving existing processes while individual aisles or workflows are converted. Software coordinates storage locations, robot missions and workstation demand, allowing the system to expand as order volume grows without replacing the complete installation.

Timeline
Events
- 2025-06-03 - Product Launch - SIMPL Automation launches ADAPTIV vertical-lift ASRS line
The VLM line supports multiple extractors and up to seven tote presentations per bay to scale throughput and pick efficiency. It can mount on existing pallet racking, allowing brownfield sites to reuse infrastructure and reduce deployment cost. The launch extends the ADAPTIV family across goods-to-person, person-to-goods and vertical-lift storage workflows.

The configuration shortened pick paths by presenting only source totes required for active orders. It combined high-density storage with a lower-cost entry point for brownfield facilities. The modular design could later expand into a fully automated person-to-goods workflow.

ADAPTIV ASRS integrated with existing warehouse racking to reduce infrastructure changes and installation disruption. The platform supported person-to-goods and goods-to-person workflows with double-deep tote or tray storage. Operators could scale from manual pick-to-cart configurations toward a fully automated goods-to-person system.
