About Vay
Vay’s service places a remotely driven electric car at the customer’s selected location. A trained teledriver controls the empty vehicle from a remote station using camera, audio and vehicle data; once it arrives, the customer enters and drives it conventionally without a remote operator controlling the occupied journey.
At the end of the rental, the customer leaves the car within the service area and Vay remotely moves it to the next booking, parking location or charging point. The app supports minute- and day-based rental in Las Vegas. The same teledriving architecture is also being developed for commercial fleets and autonomous-vehicle support.

Events
- 2024-09-03 - Product Launch - Vay launches teledriving products and services for business fleets
Vay made its teledriving technology available to external vehicle-fleet operators through a B2B offering. Target customers included OEMs, rental firms, car-share operators, trucking, delivery, logistics, and public transport. The expansion followed commercial Las Vegas operations and work exploring rental and delivery applications with Peugeot.

Vay expanded remotely delivered electric-car coverage across central Las Vegas and the Strip. The enlarged delivery area covered roughly one quarter of the metropolitan region, nearly twice San Francisco. Customers had completed more than 1,000 trips since the commercial service launched five months earlier.

Users could order an electric car that a remote driver delivered without anyone onboard. Customers drove themselves, then a remote driver returned the vehicle, eliminating pickup and parking trips. The initial service covered UNLV, the Arts District, and downtown Las Vegas with per-minute pricing.

Vay remotely drove cars on public roads in Europe and North America without onboard occupants. The Las Vegas journey followed a February 2023 public-road milestone previously completed in Hamburg. Remote drivers operated vehicle controls from a center using camera, audio, steering, and pedal interfaces.
