Pronto AI
About
About Pronto AI
Pronto develops retrofit autonomy for off-road haul trucks. AHS Vision uses cameras and positioning hardware, while VLR and VL360 configurations add lidar and radar for larger vehicles and demanding mine environments. Vehicle control, fleet supervision and site integration are delivered as one operating system.
Atoms completed its acquisition of Pronto in 2026 and made the business the technology core of Atoms Mining. Existing quarry and mining deployments continue under the Pronto name, including mixed-fleet programmes and distribution partnerships with heavy-equipment suppliers.

Timeline
Events
- 2026-07-15 - Partnership - Pronto and Hitachi partner on open mine automation
The planned solutions combine Pronto's OEM-agnostic AHS with Hitachi mining-equipment expertise. The partnership targets mines that want to retain mixed equipment fleets. Pronto had commercial deployments across three continents at announcement.
Source - 2026-04-30 - Deployment - Pronto expands Heidelberg deployments to two sites
The rollout covers Heidelberg's Mitchell, Indiana facility and Servtex, Texas quarry. Both sites will use Pronto's OEM-agnostic autonomous-haulage system. The expansion follows commercial validation at Lake Bridgeport.
Source - 2026-04-06 - Acquisition - Atoms acquires Pronto AI for Atoms Mining
Pronto AI says it became the core technology engine of Atoms Mining after the acquisition. The company supplies OEM-agnostic autonomous haulage systems for mines and quarries rather than manufacturing haul trucks. Pronto cited Heidelberg Materials deployments, Komatsu Smart Quarry Autonomous work and its SafeAI acquisition as part of its operating base.
Source - 2026-02-05 - Product Launch - Pronto launches tiered AHS Editions
Vision remains the camera-based rapid-deployment edition. VLR and VLR 360 add lidar and radar for demanding mine environments. The portfolio remains OEM-agnostic and retrofit-capable.
Source - 2026-01-15 - Production Milestone - Pronto AHS surpasses two million tons hauled
The milestone was achieved in under eight months of operation. The fleet combined Caterpillar 775G and Komatsu HD605 trucks under one autonomy system. The site became North America's first fully autonomous mixed-fleet quarry.
Source - 2025-08-07 - Product Launch - Pronto and Komatsu launch Smart Quarry Autonomous
Komatsu Smart Quarry Autonomous combines Pronto autonomy with Komatsu fleet-management and analytics tools. Operators can retrofit existing Komatsu trucks or buy new vehicles equipped with the system. The product is available through Komatsu's dealer network.
Source - 2025-07-15 - Acquisition - Pronto acquires SafeAI
SafeAI added multi-sensor off-road autonomy to Pronto's camera-based AHS. The combined portfolio spans smaller quarries through large mines.
Source - 2025-02-24 - Contract Award - Heidelberg selects Pronto for more than 100 autonomous trucks
The three-year agreement covers more than 100 trucks worldwide. Pronto became Heidelberg Materials' exclusive North American autonomy provider. The programme expands an operating relationship that began with a Texas quarry pilot and deployment.
Source - 2024-07-30 - Deployment - Pronto deploys autonomous haulage at Lake Bridgeport
The deployment uses Komatsu HD605-8 haul trucks. Pronto AHS integrates with Komatsu Smart Quarry technology. The system followed an earlier pilot at Heidelberg Materials' Bridgeport site.
