About Hyundai WIA
Hyundai WIA is a diversified South Korean manufacturer of automotive components, machine tools and smart-manufacturing systems. Its robotics and automation portfolio includes automated guided vehicles, autonomous mobile robots, mobile picking robots, driverless forklifts, collaborative factory systems and robotic parking infrastructure.
At its July 2026 second-quarter briefing, Hyundai WIA outlined a KRW 400 billion medium- and long-term robotics investment programme covering new production facilities, logistics robots, parking automation and potential stakes in AI and robotics-software companies. The programme is recorded as capital allocation and strategic intent, not as a completed factory, acquisition or committed product shipment.

Source - 2026-08-10 - Deployment - Hyundai WIA begins residential parking-robot pilot in Siheung
Each system uses a pair of 110-millimetre-high robots that lift vehicles by the wheels, move omnidirectionally at up to 1.2 metres per second and handle up to 3.4 tonnes. The Korean smart-city regulatory-sandbox project will measure wait time, parking success, robot uptime, throughput and space efficiency in residential operation. Hyundai expects the layout to improve parking capacity by 20–50% and plans standard operating models for residential, commercial, public and transport buildings.
