Ascent Solar Technologies
About
About Ascent Solar Technologies
Ascent Solar builds monolithically integrated photovoltaic modules on flexible polyimide substrates. The resulting panels are designed for applications where conventional rigid solar hardware would impose too much mass or limit the available surface geometry, with current markets spanning spacecraft, high-altitude systems, aircraft and specialist industrial uses.
Its unmanned-systems activity is an extension of a space-focused manufacturing base in Thornton, Colorado. In August 2026, two Eastern European drone manufacturers ordered modules for aircraft-wing integration and two unmanned-marine-vehicle companies placed separate product orders. Ascent described annual demand of 325-500 kW as a possible follow-on outcome, not committed volume.
