TriOrb
About
About TriOrb
TriOrb’s drive uses three large balls, each controlled by its own motor, to produce translation and rotation in any direction without steering the chassis first. The mechanism allows a platform to move laterally, diagonally and around its centre within a compact footprint. Control algorithms coordinate the three contact points for millimetre-scale positioning and stable movement beneath changing loads.
The mobility module can carry workpieces, fixtures or a robot arm through production and logistics environments. Several platforms can also coordinate beneath larger equipment to distribute a heavier load. TriOrb supplies mobile bases and integration support, while the customer adds the top structure, task hardware and fleet workflow required for the factory application.
