About SPH Engineering
Founded in Riga in 2013, SPH Engineering builds software infrastructure for professional uncrewed-aircraft operations. Its products cover mission planning, payload and sensor integration, drone-show control and custom development, with UgCS serving as the core platform for survey and inspection teams.
UgCS plans terrain-following routes, coordinates supported aircraft and connects specialised payloads through components such as SkyHub. The company says thousands of drone teams use the software across a global partner network. SPH does not manufacture the aircraft; it provides the mission and integration layer that makes repeatable data-collection workflows possible across mines, utilities, construction sites and environmental surveys.

Events
- 2026-06-09 - Product Launch - SPH Engineering releases UgCS 6.0 for large-area drone surveys
Large Projects splits a survey polygon into aligned sub-areas while preserving common mission settings. The release adds Smart AGL 2.0 terrain following that considers terrain beside the route as well as below and ahead. The update targets magnetic surveys, UXO clearance, geological mapping and other campaigns too large for one flight.
Source - 2024-09-26 - Product Launch - SPH Engineering and Radar Systems launch Zond Aero 500 NG
The Zond Aero 500 NG supports both terrestrial surveys and drone-mounted operation. Real-time sampling targets utility scanning, sinkhole detection, glaciology and geological surveys. The collaboration combines Radar Systems’ GPR hardware with SPH Engineering’s aerial integration and mission workflow.
