About OffWorld

OffWorld organises its mining-robot designs around a sequence of specialised tasks. An excavator breaks material, a collector gathers it and a hauler moves it over longer distances. The Collector concept can handle fragmented material and vacuum smaller chips and dust, with the collection tool adapted to the expected particle sizes.

The machines share a modular architecture for power, sensing and data, supporting coordinated behaviours across the fleet. Operators define the required work and monitor progress through a supervisory interface. OffWorld’s development approach connects the individual cutting and handling tools with the movement of material through the wider excavation process, with configurations tailored to the deposit and working environment.

Profile notes

  • OffWorld’s terrestrial mining robots are the commercial step toward, not evidence of, an operating off-Earth mining fleet

reviewed 2026-07-20 - OffWorld presents modular autonomous robots for mines on Earth while retaining a long-term vision for lunar and asteroid resource extraction. Terrestrial pilots validate autonomy, excavation and fleet coordination in accessible environments, but do not demonstrate that the same system has operated beyond Earth. The space-mining identity describes the destination of the roadmap rather than current operations.
