About MoveEz

MoveEz is a Kanazawa University spinout founded in May 2024 to develop autonomous-driving systems and robotaxi services. Its technology builds on university research begun in 1998 and targets two costly deployment constraints: perception in rain, snow and strong backlight, and dependence on detailed three-dimensional maps. Sensor fusion combines radar, lidar and imaging inputs, while its map-light approach uses simpler road information and automated map generation.

The team began public-road testing in 2015 and reports more than 40,000 autonomous kilometres and over 2,000 passenger rides. A Tokyo Waterfront field test in April 2026 used supervised Level 2 vehicles and app-based dispatch, while other trials have addressed snowy and regional routes. MoveEz develops the driving software and supports vehicle integration, validation and service preparation. Its stated goal is fully autonomous robotaxi operation, but the cited public demonstrations remain supervised tests and are not commercial driverless service.
