About Greenroom Robotics

Greenroom Robotics develops a platform for maritime autonomy and AI. GAMA is its hardware-agnostic control layer for remotely operated, optionally crewed and autonomous vessels, combining mission planning, COLREGS-aware navigation and integration with existing vessel systems.

The wider platform includes Lookout+ for vision-based maritime perception, MarOps for operational planning and reporting, and MIS-SIM for mission rehearsal and assurance. Greenroom works with vessel manufacturers, integrators and survey operators, including deployments on EGS Survey's Fremantle-class uncrewed surface vessels.

Timeline

Events

  • 2026-08-27 - Production Milestone - EGS Australia christens Fremantle 02 survey vessel

The maiden mission is planned under the Royal Australian Navy HydroScheme Industry Partnership Program and had not begun at publication. Fremantle 01 previously operated about 90% of its missions autonomously; EGS reported a 94% diesel reduction and about 135 tonnes of avoided emissions during one 42-day mission. Operating Fremantle 01 and 02 together is intended to shorten survey missions without increasing crew at sea; that fleet benefit was presented as an operating expectation.

  • 2026-02-16 - Deployment - Greenroom Lookout+ completes 60-day Arnhem Marine Park deployment

Lookout+ ran continuously aboard Riverside Guardian to detect, classify and geolocate vessels, marine mammals, navigation markers and other hazards. The vessel travelled 8,396 nautical miles while the system identified 1,840 objects and covered 2,784 square nautical miles. The deployed configuration combined optical, radar and thermal cameras to provide continuous 360-degree situational awareness.

  • 2026-02-10 - Regulatory - Bureau Veritas grants GAMA Approval in Principle

Bureau Veritas assessed GAMA’s overall design principles against its NI641 guidelines for autonomous shipping. GAMA combines onboard sensor data for situational awareness, vessel monitoring, decision-making and control, with onboard or remote operation. The design-level approval establishes a pathway toward later flag-state review and full certification.

  • 2025-02-17 - Partnership - EGS Survey selects Greenroom Robotics’ GAMA for Fremantle 01 USV

EGS Survey selected Greenroom Robotics’ GAMA Remote and Autonomous Control Software as the autonomy provider for the 12-metre Fremantle 01 uncrewed surface vessel. GAMA connects with QINSy survey software and supports custom autonomy parameters, real-time mission management, COLREGs-aware collision avoidance, fail-safes and over-the-horizon connectivity. Fremantle 01 is designed to complete about 90% of survey missions autonomously, with more than 10 days of endurance and remote management from EGS Survey’s Fremantle control centre.
