About Turion Space
Turion’s DROID spacecraft are designed for non-Earth imaging, rendezvous and proximity operations, refueling and other dynamic missions from low Earth orbit toward geostationary orbit. Starfire provides mission planning, autonomous tasking and constellation command and control for Turion-owned and third-party spacecraft.
The first two DROID missions entered orbit and supplied imagery for space-domain awareness. The 2026 financing is intended to expand the fleet and increase annual spacecraft production capacity from eight vehicles toward forty while scaling Starfire for larger multi-satellite operations.

Events
- 2026-08-26 - Demonstration - Turion Space manoeuvres DROID.002 in multinational defence exercise
Mission operators commanded physical avoidance burns after alerts from an international Joint Commercial Operations Cell, keeping DROID.002 outside a 500-metre intercept zone. LeoLabs supplied radar tracking and Saber Astronautics supplied visualization and orbital modelling for the multinational scenario. The spacecraft continued its primary allied-support mission while performing the avoidance sequence in low Earth orbit.

The programme is led through Space Systems Command and is intended to advance space-based missile-defence capability. Turion identified its DROID satellites and Starfire mission software as the company infrastructure supporting national-security operations. The selection followed Turion’s Series B financing and its earlier place on the Space Force RG-XX indefinite-delivery contract vehicle.
