About
About Moog
Moog is a diversified public motion-control company serving aerospace, defence and industrial markets. Its robotics offer spans servo motors, servo valves, slip rings, control electronics and integrated actuation used in robotic arms, mobile machines, semiconductor handling and powered prosthetics.
The company also develops complete motion subsystems for advanced robotic platforms. For the Italian Institute of Technology's HyQReal quadruped, Moog engineered the hydraulic pump units, smart manifolds, fluid rotary unions and Integrated Servo Actuators that drive the robot's legs. Moog Animatics is an operating brand within the group.

Events
- 2026-10-02 - Market Signal - Niron reports Moog actuator magnet testing ahead of AUSA 2026
The October 12–14 exhibit builds on the companies' collaboration announced in December 2025. Moog is testing the rare-earth-free magnets in motor hardware for land vehicles and guided munitions. Niron reported magnet production and customer qualification since 2025, with commercial production planned within 18 months.
Source - 2026-08-24 - Demonstration - Moog demonstrates RIwP counter-drone turret on Voltaic autonomous USV
The AEU39 uses an electric-hybrid architecture with solar integration for long-duration station keeping in fleet-protection, littoral-defence and port-security missions. Moog describes RIwP as weapon-, sight- and platform-agnostic, roughly one-third the weight of the standard turret and configurable with a 30 mm cannon and multiple missile effectors. The integration moved RIwP from its established land role into the maritime domain on a wireless unmanned surface platform.
Source - 2026-08-14 - Facility Opening - Moog opens $150m Advanced Integrated Manufacturing facility
The new centre provides nearly 50% more space than the operation it replaces and combines machining, automation, robotics and inspection technologies. Moog plans to transition nearly 1,500 parts into the facility over several years, starting with some of its highest-volume products. The site supports current military-aircraft programmes and forms part of more than $300 million invested by Moog in Western New York over five years.
Source - 2026-08-12 - Partnership - Near Earth Autonomy and Moog sign cockpit-autonomy integration MOU
The proposed architecture combines Near Earth’s CAPTAIN autonomous-pilot system and RUC aircraft with Moog cockpit displays, communications and controls. The parties target fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft, manual-to-autonomous transitions and missions ranging from search and rescue to cargo resupply. The programme builds on prior UH-60L Black Hawk and RUC-60 work and establishes a framework for domestic and international opportunities.
Source - 2019-05-23 - Demonstration - Moog and IIT demonstrate HyQReal quadruped pulling a three-ton airplane
Moog and IIT completed the design, assembly, and testing of the HyQReal hydraulic quadruped robot. At Genoa Airport, HyQReal pulled a 3,300 kg passenger airplane for more than 10 metres, demonstrating its traction and locomotion capability. Moog developed most of the robot’s hydraulic actuation system and positioned its integrated smart actuators for future mobile-robotics builders.

Moog was tasked to design, qualify and manufacture the demonstrator’s flight-control actuators, actuator-control electronics and accessories. The system used redundant actuation for vertical take-off, landing and cruise flight, plus Moog flight-critical software. Initial product deliveries were scheduled within 12 months of the contract award for the full-scale demonstration aircraft.
