About
About Leidos
Leidos is a large U.S. technology and national-security contractor whose robotics exposure comes through mission autonomy, digital engineering, uncrewed-system integration and sensor processing. The company combines deployable hardware with software and operational support rather than acting as a single-platform robot manufacturer.
Its space work includes infrared payloads and onboard processing for missile warning and tracking, while its wider defense portfolio covers autonomy, command systems and AI-enabled mission workflows. Leidos traces its history to 1969 and operates from Reston, Virginia under the NYSE ticker LDOS.

Timeline
Events
- 2026-10-05 - Partnership - Leidos closes Analogic joint venture combining security and industrial automation businesses
Equity ownership is split 41.5% for Leidos and 58.5% for Altaris affiliates, which control a majority of board votes. The venture received subsidiaries holding the two Leidos businesses and some Analogic Holding equity; it bought the remaining Analogic interests using new debt financing. The closing completes the contribution and equity purchase agreement signed on April 14, 2026.
Source - 2026-09-08 - Demonstration - Leidos discloses Sea Hunter and Seahawk autonomy milestones
Sea Hunter autonomously travelled more than 2,000 nautical miles from Pearl Harbor to San Diego during RIMPAC. The RIMPAC work included surveillance and manned-unmanned teaming with fleet assets. Seahawk became the first MUSV deployed operationally with a carrier strike group and demonstrated collision avoidance and GPS-denied waypoint navigation.
Source - 2026-08-31 - Contract Award - Leidos awards Curtiss-Wright $40 million of IFPC contracts
Curtiss-Wright will provide electromechanical actuators and DuraCOR 8044 rugged mission computers for the mobile ground-based system. The DuraCOR 8044 uses an 11th-generation Intel Xeon W processor and is designed for size-, weight- and power-constrained defence applications. IFPC Increment 2 is intended to acquire, track and defeat unmanned aircraft systems, cruise missiles and rockets, including in support of Guam defence.
Source - 2026-08-03 - Commercial Order - Leidos selected for 18 Sierra Space missile-tracking satellites
The spacecraft support the Accelerated Missile Defense Tranche 3 Tracking Layer programme. Leidos is responsible for flight-proven infrared payloads and onboard processing rather than the satellite bus. The selection also includes mission support across the 18-satellite deployment.
Source - 2025-09-06 - Commercial Order - Echodyne selected as LAND 156 radar provider
Leidos Australia is the programme prime contractor named by Echodyne. The supplied input is counter-UAS radar technology. The selection is scoped to LAND 156 rather than all Leidos programmes.
Source - 2025-06-03 - Demonstration - Leidos completes initial Sea Archer sea trials
The vessel is rated for 40-knot speed and a 1,500-mile range under LAVA autonomy. Its hull provides at least 2,000 pounds of enclosed payload capacity and uses twin diesel outboards. The trailerable design is intended for conventional boatyard production and moved next toward mission testing.
Source - 2025-04-07 - Product Launch - Leidos introduces Sea Dart UUV family
The tested standard variants use six-inch and nine-inch diameters and can be transported by one or two people. Sea Dart accepts customer payloads and supports the Navy’s preferred underwater software architecture and non-propagating battery design. Leidos identified mine countermeasures, underwater survey, infrastructure monitoring and environmental sensing among its intended missions.
Source - 2021-08-23 - Capability - Advanced Navigation Spatial Dual selected for Gremlins X-61 recovery
Spatial Dual's low size, weight, power consumption and cost helped meet the airborne recovery system's constraints. Kinematica post-processing measured relative positions between the recovery aircraft, Gremlins UAVs and deployed recovery equipment. Early flight-test data and post-flight analysis supported incorporating Spatial Dual into the final recovery design.
