About
About Gurley Precision Instruments
Gurley offers enclosed and modular optical encoders for rotary or linear measurement. Its Virtual Absolute approach is an additional position-feedback option alongside conventional incremental and absolute models. The encoders provide motion feedback for robot axes, machine tools, medical equipment and other precision systems, with custom designs available for unusual environmental or packaging requirements.
The present Gurley Precision Instruments company dates to a 1993 separation from Teledyne, while the Gurley measuring-instrument business traces back to 1845. Optical encoders became its largest product line. Design and manufacturing remain in Troy, New York, and the company supports OEM quantities as well as prototypes.
