Elsight and AeroVironment begin Halo connectivity integration
- The planned connectivity layer combines satellite, public and private cellular networks, and point-to-point radio while adapting to changing link conditions.
- Mayhem 10’s modular open architecture supports third-party technologies and mission payloads for ISR, electronic warfare, communications relay and precision strike.
- Integration work is underway, with automatic link management intended to reduce operator workload.

Mobilicom launches SwarmiX mesh communications family
- The family targets throughput up to 1 Gbps and mesh networks connecting hundreds of nodes.
- An embedded module serves drones and robots; a ruggedized unit serves operators, vehicles and launch systems.
- Multi-band spectrum agility extending up to 7 GHz is part of the suite’s roadmap.

Elsight launches GNSS-denied Positioning capability
- Existing Halo customers receive the application as a software or feature unlock without additional hardware.
- Its fusion engine combines cellular Timing Advance, nearby base-station signals, verified GPS and motion vectors.
- Elsight says it cross-checks GPS against cellular-derived location and alerts when they diverge beyond a threshold.

International Datacasting qualifies for all five Canadian Defence Drone Initiative streams
- The five streams cover UxS and counter-UxS systems, communications and cyber systems, integration and engineering, test and training, and innovation and experimentation.
- Potential work includes research, prototyping, demonstrations and production-related services for the Department of National Defence and Canadian Armed Forces.
- Qualification establishes procurement eligibility; it does not award a contract or guarantee future business.

Kymeta wins DoD contract for Osprey u8 edge-platform development
- The cartridge is designed to add mission functions while maintaining the Osprey u8’s multi-orbit satellite communications performance.
- RF Space Domain Awareness functions are intended to detect interference, analyze satellite behavior and protect communications services.
- Additional software applications could extend the platform over time without installing separate hardware on the mission vehicle.

LiveU and Airwise combine drone operations and live-video connectivity
- Airwise supplies fleet and pilot management, airspace awareness and video distribution; LiveU supplies edge encoding and bonded-IP transport.
- The architecture brings mission controls, airspace compliance and live video into a shared operational view.
- An end-to-end demonstration is planned for DRONERESPONDERS TEXCON in Arlington, Texas, on October 19–22.

Ditto wins $17 million USSOCOM award for enterprise edge-data fielding
- The platform synchronizes data between human users and autonomous systems in denied, degraded, intermittent and limited-connectivity environments.
- The award follows three years of work with Special Operations Forces end users across multiple USSOCOM components.
- The contract was awarded through the U.S. Air Force’s BESPIN office.

Gogo and Insitu test Galileo HDX on Group 3 UAS
- The configuration supports command-and-control connectivity and backhaul of sensor data over satellite links.
- The terminal was modified for the Integrator airframe rather than presented as a fleet-wide standard configuration.
- The work extends Galileo HDX beyond its established business-aviation market into special-missions UAS connectivity.

TERASi raises EUR11 million seed round
- In-Q-Tel and D3 joined the round alongside returning investors Navigare Ventures, Almi Invest, STING, Onsight Ventures, Further Than Capital and KTH Ventures.
- Its compact directional radios can be mounted on tripods or drones to establish high-bandwidth links in contested environments.
- Proceeds will expand deployment of the current range, grow engineering and field teams, and support further mm-wave systems development.

KDDI starts distributed-compute physical-AI trial with retail robot
- The trial connects KDDI’s Osaka Sakai data centre and Tama Network Centre through an All-Photonics Network and uses Morgenrot GPU virtualisation.
- Remote inference is compared with compute placed at 0 km, 20 km or more, 50 km or more and 500 km from the robot.
- The consortium is testing whether distributed compute can retain the response performance required for physical-AI tasks while reducing dependence on a single data-centre location.
