Humanoid production and supply chain — 2–9 September 2026

Company developments across robotics, humanoid production, deployments, supply chains and robot learning.

Major funding rounds

$152MSeries A

Humanoid raised a $152 million Series A led by Prime Movers Lab at a $1.35 billion post-money valuation, taking total funding to $270 million. Schaeffler, Bosch, Fubon Financial Holding Venture Capital and Aglaé Ventures participated. The UK company develops industrial humanoid robots and its KinetIQ robot-intelligence software.

The financing will support its next-generation platform, the start of mass manufacturing for wheeled humanoids and beta deployments beginning in the fourth quarter of 2026. Humanoid plans applications across manufacturing, logistics, retail and other industrial settings. Its existing deployment relationship with Schaeffler gives the programme access to production environments, while the funding supports both the physical manufacturing ramp and continued AI development.

Production and supply chain

Dedicated production line commissioned with more than 80% automation across core processes.

XPeng has commissioned a dedicated production line for their IRON humanoid in Guangzhou, moving the robot from R&D trial builds into line manufacturing.

The first IRON completed automated final assembly and by their claim walked off the line autonomously. The line was designed by XPeng for scaled production, with more than 80% of core processes automated and automotive-grade quality systems adapted from their EV manufacturing operations.

XPeng says more than 85% of their humanoid supply-chain partners also supply their vehicle business, allowing the company to reuse established procurement, quality-control and manufacturing relationships rather than build an entirely new supplier network.

XPeng is targeting mass production by the end of 2026, initially deploying IRON across their own stores and campuses before planned commercial deliveries in China and overseas markets in 2027.

Precision reducer integrated into the KAIROS standard humanoid drive module.

SPG's precision reducers have been integrated into KAIROS's waist, hip and ankle drive modules, as part of the Korea Institute of Machinery & Materials' standard humanoid platform. No production order was disclosed.

Four robot program awards secured; 500,000-unit actuator capacity planned.

Samhyun has advanced four global and domestic robot programs to their award stage and is discussing actuator and component supply with more than 20 companies, including global humanoid developers.

The Korean motion-control manufacturer is applying automotive production methods to robotics. Their existing actuator processes reach up to 95% automation, with reported defect rates around five parts per million.

Customer requests for earlier supply have prompted Samhyun to bring forward construction of their second Changwon actuator facility from Q2 2027 to the end of 2026.

By Q2 2027, planned capacity includes 500,000 actuators, 1.5 million motors, 1 million controllers and 500,000 reducers.

LG Electronics began producing AXIUM robot actuators at its Changwon plant ahead of its original schedule, according to Maeil Business News reporting. The initial units are intended for LG’s home robots at its Yangjae robot data factory, where repeated operation will produce data for improving the hardware before wider external sales.

AXIUM combines motors, reducers and drives into compact joint modules. The report says each robot will use more than 20 actuators across nine models, covering shoulders, waist, elbows, wrists and mobility wheels. LG planned approximately 300 robots for the data factory that year, corresponding to more than 6,000 actuators in use. Those figures describe planned internal deployment.

Humanoid components delivered during the first half of 2026.

Changying Precision has started operations at a new embodied-intelligence component manufacturing base in Yibin.

The Shenzhen-listed precision manufacturer generated RMB10.7B (~$1.6B) in H1 revenue, largely from consumer electronics and new-energy components, and is increasingly applying that manufacturing base to humanoids.

The new facility covers dexterous-hand structures, joints, transmission components and robot body parts. Changying says they are already a Tier-1 supplier to leading humanoid manufacturers in China and overseas.

They delivered approximately 860,000 humanoid components in H1 2026, already above roughly 690,000 across all of 2025, and have secured whole-humanoid assembly orders with deliveries expected in H2.

Changying also has around 60,000 m² of their Shenzhen robotics manufacturing park allocated to humanoid-related production.

SK On × Yuil Robotics will develop standardized swappable all-solid-state battery systems for humanoids, spanning cells, packs, BMS and robot-level validation.

Agility Robotics' new S-4 adds detail behind the $300M+ Digit v5 order figure.

Most of the figure relates to one undisclosed customer and approximately 1,000 robots under a three-year RaaS agreement, subject to deployment and manufacturing milestones. Warrants issued to the customer vest as robots are deployed.

Agility's Oregon RoboFab is designed for eventual capacity of 10,000 robots annually, with roughly 75% of Digit parts sourced in the U.S. Current production remains well below that level, with transaction proceeds intended partly to scale Digit v5 production.

Chinese supply-chain reporting indicates Tesla placed component orders corresponding to roughly 5,000 Optimus robots in early September.

The reported order follows Fremont line commissioning beginning in July and an initial commissioning milestone in August. Earlier guidance reportedly asked suppliers to prepare capacity for around 1,000 robots per week in September, rising further toward year-end.

Tesla has not confirmed the 5,000-unit order, supplier allocations or production volumes.
