About ABEJA
ABEJA develops enterprise AI systems and the ABEJA Platform for deploying and managing machine-learning applications. Its work spans data pipelines, model development and operational integration, including perception and speech components that can be embedded in physical systems.
For JAXA’s Int-Ball2 free-flying camera robot, ABEJA supplied speech recognition designed to function in the noisy environment of the International Space Station. That project places its robotics role at the intelligence layer: adapting AI models to a specific machine and validating them in the intended operating environment.

Timeline
Events
- 2026-09-10 - Demonstration - ABEJA begins UAV autonomy verification work for Mitsubishi Heavy Industries
The work advances a February feasibility study on applying vision-language-action models. ABEJA is evaluating AI agents and related methods for autonomous unmanned-aircraft functions. The engagement is commissioned by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.
Source - 2026-07-16 - Demonstration - ABEJA voice AI controls Int-Ball2 robot aboard the ISS
The experiment demonstrated voice-command control for movement and rotation aboard Kibo. ABEJA tuned the model for station noise and constrained onboard compute. The result is an orbital technology demonstration, not a commercial robot deployment.
