About Barrett Technology
Barrett Technology develops torque-controlled robotic arms, dexterous hands and compact motor-control electronics. The cable-driven WAM arm is available with four or seven degrees of freedom and is naturally backdrivable, allowing force control through low-friction, near-zero-backlash joints. High-payload configurations carry up to eight kilograms on the four-axis arm or six kilograms on the seven-axis version, while the open control architecture supports manipulation, haptics, teleoperation and robotics research.
The BH8-282 BarrettHand is a self-contained, 980-gram, three-finger gripper with eight controllable axes that adapts to differently shaped objects without changing tools. It connects over serial or CAN bus and can be paired with WAM or other robot arms. Barrett also supplies Puck motor controllers and the three-axis Burt platform for upper-limb rehabilitation research, including sensorimotor training, force-feedback studies, virtual environments and master-slave control. The product family spans research components, integrated manipulation systems and clinical rehabilitation equipment.
