BASAL centres its model research on actions, feedback and demonstrations. The company aims to let robots retain useful context from earlier attempts and adjust to unfamiliar tasks without a separate retraining cycle for each change.
The Beijing team works on models, data collection and evaluation while collaborating with hardware developers. Co-founder and CEO Jianxiong Li describes reducing the cost of adapting and deploying robots as the central objective. The approach remains a development programme.

The company develops action-native models intended to adapt robot behavior through demonstrations and interaction. BASAL was founded on July 21, 2026 by eight embodied-intelligence researchers, with core members from Tsinghua and Peking University.
