About BotBlox
BotBlox develops compact Ethernet switches, media converters and embedded computers for robots, drones, subsea vehicles and spacecraft. Its boards connect cameras, lidar, computers and controllers where conventional networking equipment is too large, heavy or power-hungry.
Products range from small unmanaged switches to managed, time-sensitive and multi-gigabit systems, with rugged versions designed for vibration, temperature or pressure exposure. BotBlox provides board-level hardware, firmware and engineering support so equipment makers can build deterministic onboard networks into size-, weight- and power-constrained platforms.

Events
- 2025-03-01 - Demonstration - BotBlox reports radiation testing for rugged Ethernet switch modules
The testing focused on BotBlox rugged Ethernet switch hardware. BotBlox framed the results for harsh-environment systems that need compact embedded networking. The article added qualification evidence for robotics and mission systems exposed to extreme conditions.
Source - 2025-02-08 - Capability - BotBlox details pressure-tolerant subsea Ethernet infrastructure
The article described Ethernet networking designs that tolerate subsea pressure environments. BotBlox connected the work to underwater vehicles and subsea robotics systems. The capability expands BotBlox's embedded networking role beyond aerial and ground robotics.
Source - 2024-12-13 - Product Launch - BotBlox releases BloxOs for Rugged SOM and SwitchBlox Rugged
BloxOs moved out of beta on December 13, 2024. The release adds VLANs, STP/RSTP, port statistics, PHY controls and multicast-snooping features. BotBlox said updates and security patches would be installable over UART after initial flashing.
Source - 2023-08-23 - Deployment - Vision iO validates SPEBlox-Long in ReadyCAM communications
Vision iO replaced its ReadyCAM power-line communications approach with BotBlox SPEBlox-Long hardware. Testing reached 625 metres while maintaining 10 Mbps bandwidth, stability and noise immunity. The implementation uses open 10BASE-T1L networking over twisted-pair copper for long industrial cable runs.
