About Capio Robotics
Capio Robotics combines compliant fingers with contact and deformation feedback so a handling system can respond to the object it grips. Its 3D vision estimates the item’s position and orientation before picking, while the soft contact surfaces distribute pressure around variable shapes. The components are designed for integration with existing robotic platforms.
The company focuses on fresh produce, where size, ripeness and wet or irregular surfaces complicate repeatable handling. Its intended workflows include transferring apples between crates, conveyors, inspection stations and packaging lines. Modular, cleanable gripper configurations allow the tool to be arranged around the product and process, bringing visual localisation and contact feedback together at the pick-and-place step.
