Carbonix

Carbonix develops runway-independent fixed-wing aircraft for long-distance sensing. Volanti is an all-electric 3.6-metre VTOL platform for mapping, lidar, electro-optical and communications payloads, while Ottano adds hybrid propulsion for missions requiring substantially longer endurance. The Sydney manufacturer supplies aircraft with mission planning, training, integration and operating support.

Customer programmes cover energy, mining, transport, environmental monitoring and coastal surveillance in Australia and the United States. In 2026 Carbonix received Australia’s first SAIL III approval for a drone operation, supporting BVLOS infrastructure inspection over the Surat Basin under a defined operating case. The certification is scoped to that approved programme; the wider delivery model combines aircraft engineering with regulatory and operational work for recurring remote-area missions.
