Cerence AI develops embedded and cloud software for conversational interfaces, audio intelligence and connected vehicle experiences. The company became independent from Nuance Communications in October 2019 and trades on Nasdaq as CRNC. Its technology is supplied to automakers and mobility-system developers as embedded software within vehicle stacks.
For autonomy, Cerence Emergency Vehicle Detection analyzes exterior microphone signals to identify approaching emergency vehicles and communicate direction and urgency to the driving system. Advanced Smart Mobility is deploying that capability in Japanese autonomous-bus field trials, giving the vehicles an additional perception channel for ambulances, police cars and fire engines.

Speech recognition supports French, English and Mandarin simultaneously. The work brings Cerence’s conversational AI and human-machine interaction technology to Geely’s service-robotics programme. The Paris demonstration is the first international showcase of their robotics collaboration.
