About Cerulion
Cerulion replaces the single-machine ROS 2 communication graph with a Rust runtime built on iceoryx2 shared memory. Camera, LiDAR and control messages are written once and read in place, including variable-sized message types, avoiding payload copies while retaining native ROS 2 message compatibility for incremental adoption.
Execution order is derived from a static graph rather than the operating-system scheduler, making live runs traceable and replayable in the same order. Topic triggers and backpressure coordinate producers and slower consumers instead of silently dropping frames, and each node can run in a separate process so one crash remains isolated. The current product targets Linux robot computers and production debugging at microsecond-scale inter-process latency.
