About Davie
Davie's move into uncrewed vessels builds on its shipbuilding and systems-integration organisation. Its new autonomous business is intended to combine that experience with Ontario's advanced manufacturing, composites and automation capabilities, drawing on suppliers across Canada. At its July 2026 launch, the company was evaluating several Ontario locations for production.
The initial vessel programme is based on designs developed with Kraken Technology Group following a partnership announced in May. Davie's parent, Inocea Group, also participated in Kraken's financing. The planned Canadian business targets both domestic and international customers, with applications including coastal security, search and rescue and infrastructure protection. Establishing production and integration capacity is the immediate industrial step.
