OpenVAN is Dongfeng Automobile's autonomous-logistics vehicle brand, combining purpose-built cargo vehicles, redundant drive-by-wire chassis, autonomous-driving software, 5G fleet coordination and operating support. Its DF-2, DF-8, DF-25 and DF-60 classes span compact delivery through larger freight loads for industrial parks and urban logistics.
Dongfeng launched the range in June 2026 and said the programme had completed more than 130 million kilometres of L4 testing and received orders for more than 4,000 vehicles. A June agreement with EP Equipment links OpenVAN road transport with automated warehouse handling, while the first customer deliveries in Xiangyang on August 31 moved the programme into commercial deployment. Dongfeng supports the brand through its vehicle-manufacturing base and national service network.

The delivery followed more than 4,000 units of strategic agreements announced at the OpenVAN launch in June. Recipients and witnesses named at the handover included Dongfeng Logistics, Dongben Storage and Transport, Dongfeng eπ and China Merchants Intelligent Mobility. Dongfeng offers OpenVAN as a vehicle, cloud-control, operations-and-maintenance and spares package through purchase, finance-lease and per-kilometre service models.

The collaboration covers warehouse, handling, loading, transport and picking workflows. The companies plan joint product development for parcel delivery, ecommerce warehousing and automotive manufacturing.
