About Flai
Flai develops AI software that converts raw three-dimensional point clouds into classified objects and geospatial products. FlaiCortex accepts lidar, photogrammetry and sonar data from airborne, mobile, terrestrial and marine sensors, then segments terrain and infrastructure using nine domain-specific models.
Outputs include typed point clouds, vector features, building footprints, wires, centre lines and raster surfaces such as terrain and canopy models. Users can run the engine through a cloud application, local GPU command line, air-gapped server or embedded edge library. Workflows cover national mapping, utilities, forestry, mining, transport corridors, indoor BIM, bathymetry and defence analysis.

- 2026-07-09 - Contract Award - NATO DIANA selects Picogrid, Hadean, Flai and Matrix Pro Sims for Decision Superiority challenge
Each selected company receives €100,000 to integrate and demonstrate its technology in NATO’s Maven Smart System environment. The four companies cover sensor and autonomy integration, AI simulation and decision support, LiDAR processing, and military wargaming. Teams will work directly with NATO stakeholders on mission-relevant demonstrations.

Flai participated in the Rapid Environmental Assessment working group at the Portuguese Navy-hosted REPMUS exercise. Its software merged heterogeneous sensor datasets and generated environmental maps and summaries in near real time. The demonstration connected unmanned-system sensing with field and command-level maritime decision support.

The web application applies Flai AI models to classify large LiDAR point clouds with less manual processing. The platform was introduced for survey, mapping and infrastructure teams that need repeatable geospatial outputs. The launch established a SaaS delivery route alongside Flai processing-service and self-hosted options.
