GS E&C’s G.RAI programme develops autonomous robots for construction environments whose geometry, traffic and working conditions change continually. The navigation stack is designed to move through sites without requiring workers to create and maintain a detailed manual map before every task.
A 2026 partnership with Daedong Robotics begins with autonomous mobile robots for transporting materials and completing repetitive site work. GS E&C provides construction-process knowledge and test sites, while field data is used to define the mobility, safety and tooling requirements of future construction-specific robots.

- 2026-10-13 - Deployment - Serim Robotics deploys industrial cleaning robots at GS E&C and POSCO E&C sites
The machines clean large concrete floors where construction dust and debris accumulate repeatedly. Sensors and autonomous navigation guide the robots through assigned work areas as site layouts and traffic change. Serim supports model selection and operations according to each site’s floor area, working environment and routes.

Daedong Robotics and GS E&C signed an MOU covering construction-site automation and smart-construction technology collaboration. The companies said they will examine existing AI field-robot products for construction-site use and jointly pursue construction-specific robot R&D and proof-of-concept work. The release specifically points to material transport, repetitive tasks and construction-site validation as target workflows.

The robot was used to inspect underground tunnel works on a Singapore subway extension project. GS E&C said it had developed a remote-control and data-management system for construction-site robot operations.
