About
About Guidance Marine
Guidance Marine develops relative position reference sensors for dynamic-positioning systems. Its CyScan, RadaScan, Mini RadaScan, Artemis, SceneScan and SPECS products use laser, radar, microwave and vision technologies to support vessel positioning, heading and situational awareness, with integration across major DP systems and DP Classes 1–3.
The systems serve offshore energy, marine construction, ports, defense and autonomous-vessel programs, including station-keeping and close-quarters manoeuvring. The business traces its operating history to Guidance Control Systems in 1991 and is currently part of Solix. Hexagon agreed on August 26, 2026 to acquire the company, with closing expected by year-end.

Its radar, laser, vision and microwave sensors provide relative vessel position and integrate with all major dynamic-positioning systems.
Source - 2026-07-10 - Demonstration - Guidance Marine demonstrates GNSS-independent vessel positioning with Sonardyne and Veripos
DockLock provided vessel-position estimates after GPS input was disconnected during the Plymouth test. DockLock initialized Sonardyne SPRINT-Nav DP using radar-based positioning and a pre-calibrated seabed transponder. The demonstration combined Guidance Marine, Sonardyne and Veripos technologies as an interoperable multi-sensor positioning stack.
