HIVE Autonomy retrofits existing industrial machines with what it calls a silicon brain, connecting separate vehicles into one coordinated autonomous system. The company describes a human-supervised operating model in which an operator can oversee a standard machine from a control room while the autonomy layer handles parts of the work.
At Yara's Herøya facility, HIVE says it installed the system on a standard Volvo wheel loader used for material handling, with the operator remaining in command.
