About Hoverfly Technologies
Hoverfly Technologies develops tethered drones for persistent aerial surveillance and communications. LiveSky platforms receive continuous power through a ground cable, allowing cameras, radios and other payloads to remain aloft for extended overwatch above defence positions, borders, public-safety incidents and infrastructure sites.
Automated flight control maintains position and manages the tether while operators work from a ground station or vehicle integration. The elevated payload can provide wide-area video, radio relay or network coverage without the short endurance of battery-only aircraft. Hoverfly supplies complete systems, training, field integration and support for government and commercial operators.

- 2026-07-29 - Demonstration - Red Cat validates five partner integrations on Black Widow and Teal 2
Black Widow testing covered Hoverfly NEXUS communications extension, Safe Pro AI threat detection on collected imagery and Palantir vision navigation in simulated GNSS-denied conditions. Teal 2 testing covered Vigilare TitanOps voice and text commands, scene narration, configurable alerts and course-of-action concepts. Reveal Technology conducted repeatability testing for imagery, photogrammetry and 3D mapping, but the release did not identify the Red Cat aircraft used.

Picogrid integrated a Hoverfly Spectre tethered drone with its Legion platform during the Scarlet Dragon exercise. The Hoverfly Spectre provided continuous aerial sensing from 200 feet while Legion connected the sensor feed into a broader operational picture. The demonstration showed persistent low-altitude sensing for threat detection using a tethered UAS and unmanned-systems command platform.

A new drone-components line, Hoverfly Motors - Powered by KRM, was announced for the UAS component market.
