About M5Stack
Founded in Shenzhen in 2017, M5Stack built a modular hardware system around compact controllers, stackable modules and plug-in sensor or actuator units. The platform is paired with UIFlow, Arduino, MicroPython, ESP-IDF and other development paths, allowing teams to begin with graphical programming and continue into custom firmware. Espressif acquired M5Stack in 2024, aligning the product ecosystem more closely with the semiconductor supplier behind its core processors.
For robotics, M5Stack provides the controller, interface and prototyping layer rather than the finished production machine. Developers can combine motor drivers, cameras, ranging sensors, communications and human-machine interfaces without designing a board for every experiment. The company also offers customization and ODM support for moving selected prototypes toward volume hardware.
