Founded in Hsinchu in 1997, MediaTek designs system-on-chip platforms used across mobile, connectivity, consumer and embedded products. The Taiwan-listed company ships silicon at very large scale, while its Genio business adapts integrated, power-efficient compute and software support to industrial IoT and edge-AI developers.
Genio Pro, 420 and 360 are explicitly positioned for autonomous mobile robots, commercial drones, machine vision and logistics platforms. A concrete supply example is Vision Components’ VC EvoCam, which integrates the Genio 510 processor for edge vision with volume production planned in 2026. MediaTek is tracked as an enabling compute supplier: its processors host perception and AI workloads inside third-party robotic systems rather than constituting complete robots.

VC EvoCam is a 65 × 40 mm all-in-one board-level camera combining image acquisition and processing with MediaTek's Genio 510. The platform uses two Cortex-A78 and four Cortex-A55 cores, a Mali GPU and a 3.2-TOPS NPU, with up to 2 GB RAM, 16 GB flash and Debian Linux. Vision Components says volume production is planned for Q3 2026, beginning with a minimalist interface board followed by a development/prototyping board.
