About
About Mitsui Fudosan
Mitsui Fudosan develops specialised real estate around the operating requirements of research and technology companies. Its life-science and innovation programmes combine laboratories, shared equipment, offices, events and industry partnerships so companies can conduct research and commercialisation within one site. The group applies the same ecosystem model to semiconductor development through the Kumamoto Science and Manufacturing initiative.
KSCM includes PASTEC, a planned packaging and mounting research centre intended to connect semiconductor designers, manufacturers, universities and equipment suppliers. Research themes include components for physical AI, autonomous vehicles and industrial robots, where advanced packaging determines compute density, power and reliability. Mitsui Fudosan provides the site, facilities and community infrastructure for participating robot and semiconductor companies.

Events
- 2026-07-27 - Company Formation - Mitsui Fudosan and Kumamoto Prefecture establish KSCM and PASTEC
KSCM was established on 27 July 2026 in Kumamoto City to operate a semiconductor industry-academia-government community and support companies entering the science park. PASTEC is a centre inside KSCM, not a separate company; it will support implementation and packaging R&D spanning advanced and mature semiconductor generations. KSCM signed cooperation agreements with two Taiwanese and five Japanese organisations on the same date.
