About MVTec
HALCON provides a broad programming library for image acquisition, calibration, metrology, matching, three-dimensional reconstruction and deep learning. Engineers use its operators through development environments and APIs including C, C++, C# and Python to build custom inspection, identification and robot-guidance applications. Hardware independence allows the software to work across cameras, frame grabbers and computing platforms.
MERLIC packages selected vision functions in a graphical no-code environment for manufacturers and integrators that do not need to write the complete application. Users assemble tools, connect cameras and communicate results to PLCs or robots through supported interfaces. Both products can locate a part, calculate its pose and pass that information into a bin-picking, depalletising or assembly workflow while the integrator retains responsibility for the robot and process logic.

- 2026-05-13 - Demonstration - MVTec demonstrates HALCON and MERLIC machine-vision workflows at Automate 2026
HALCON Deep 3D Matching was demonstrated on glass-bottle detection under reflective conditions. MERLIC GCAD was shown on printed-circuit-board inspection for local defects and assembly-level anomalies. A bottle-inspection example covered neck measurement, logo checking and expiration-date reading with Deep OCR.
