NEC combines information technology, communications networks, sensing, cybersecurity and systems integration across government and commercial markets. In defense, its work includes command-and-control systems, operational planning and sovereign data and AI infrastructure.
A September 2026 alliance with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries links those digital layers to unmanned defense assets and other physical platforms. NEC supplies the planning, data and control side of the programme while MHI contributes platform engineering and domain systems.
