Founded in 1978 and based in Calgary, NovAtel is Hexagon’s precision-positioning business. It develops GNSS receivers, antennas, inertial navigation systems and correction services for applications that require stable position and orientation data across changing operating conditions.
Autonomous systems use that stack as a localisation reference rather than as the primary decision layer. Husarion specifies NovAtel VEXXIS GNSS-850 antennas in the NAV01P option for its Panther mobile robot, an exact integration that links NovAtel hardware to a deployed robotics platform. The company remains a diversified positioning supplier, but its autonomy exposure is direct and repeatable.

The update strengthens receiver behaviour where satellite signals are obstructed, reflected or contested. NovAtel combines the firmware with GNSS/INS sensor fusion and anti-jam technologies across land, air and marine platforms. Software-delivered resilience allows deployed positioning hardware to respond to evolving interference without replacing the full navigation stack.
