About Ocean Power Technologies
Ocean Power Technologies develops autonomous surface vessels, offshore power platforms and maritime-intelligence software. WAM-V vessels use articulated hull suspension to carry sonar, radar, cameras and environmental sensors, while PowerBuoy systems harvest wave, solar and wind energy for persistent offshore payloads and subsea equipment.
Merrows software fuses radar, AIS and electro-optical data for maritime awareness and remote mission control. WAM-Vs perform hydrographic survey, infrastructure inspection, surveillance and environmental monitoring, and can connect to a PowerBuoy for offshore charging. As of April 2025, Ocean Power Technologies reported more than 80 WAM-V deployments, with hardware also offered through data, robotics and power service models.
