About Owl Autonomous Imaging
Owl Autonomous Imaging develops long-wave infrared cameras and perception processors for road vehicles. Its thermal sensors detect emitted heat, helping identify pedestrians, animals and obstacles in darkness, glare, fog and other conditions that reduce visible-camera performance.
The Thermal Ranger platform combines an infrared imager, custom electronics and computer-vision software that produces object classifications and range estimates for driver-assistance systems. The technology is intended to complement radar and visible cameras in a multi-sensor safety architecture. Owl supplies semiconductor, camera and software elements to vehicle developers progressing through evaluation and integration.

The Thermal Ranger evaluation kit debuted at CES 2023 for OEM and Tier 1 assessment. The system combined thermal imaging, computer vision and ranging for pedestrian automatic emergency braking and ADAS. Its software provided 2D and 3D perception, object classification, segmentation, sensor fusion and range information.
