About Panasonic Holdings
Panasonic Holdings oversees a Japanese technology group with businesses spanning batteries, electronic devices, industrial solutions, business systems and consumer products. The holding company directs group strategy and technology development, while operating companies supply products and services to manufacturers, commercial organisations and households. Its history dates to the business founded in 1918.
The group has begun research into humanoid robots for factory production lines and warehouses, including AI models for controlling their actions. In a Nikkei interview, its chief AI officer described a target of manufacturing humanoids by 2029 while saying there were not yet results ready to disclose. The programme draws on the group’s wider engineering and battery capabilities. It remains a development initiative rather than an announced commercially available humanoid product or evidence of robots already working in customer factories.
