About Phantom Space
Phantom Space develops small-satellite spacecraft, propulsion and launch systems in Tucson. Its engineering services cover mission analysis, spacecraft design, constellation architecture, manufacturing and integration for vehicles from about one to 1,200 kilograms. Propulsion work includes a 500-millinewton ASCENT green-propellant thruster, planned higher-thrust variants and an ammonia arcjet array for efficient small-spacecraft manoeuvring.
The company is also maturing a modular orbital reservicing concept for attaching propulsion modules or transferring propellant after rendezvous and docking. Daytona II is its proposed two-stage small launch vehicle, using a liquid-oxygen and RP-1 Ripley engine on the first stage and a vacuum Hadley engine on the second. Phantom presents satellite manufacturing and launch as a combined service, but its near-term activity remains engineering and development: the propulsion and reservicing systems are progressing toward demonstrations, and Daytona has not yet entered orbital service.
