About PTC
PTC develops software used to design, manufacture and service industrial products. Its portfolio includes Creo computer-aided design, Windchill product lifecycle management and the cloud-native Onshape design and product-data platform. Founded in 1985 and headquartered in Boston, the company serves engineering teams that need to manage complex designs and their supporting information across a product’s life.
For robotics, its Onshape workflow carries mechanical relationships and design changes into NVIDIA Isaac Sim, reducing the manual preparation needed between CAD and physics simulation. The design remains in Onshape while simulation uses NVIDIA’s environment, supporting repeated engineering tests as a robot changes. PTC remains a separately listed company under an announced acquisition agreement with Schneider Electric; the transaction is expected to close in 2027 subject to shareholder and regulatory approvals.
