About
About Raion Robotics
Raion's development stack runs from simulation to the hardware inside a robot joint. An in-house C++ physics engine supports reinforcement-learning training, and the company designs reducers, motors and motor drivers alongside the robot chassis. Learned locomotion is combined with camera and lidar navigation, while its communications software carries data over LTE, Wi-Fi and radio links.
RAIBO2 provides modular space for perception, communications and other payloads. Raion demonstrates the quadruped on stairs, factory floors and uneven outdoor terrain as part of its mobility validation. Customers can approach the company for robot purchases, demonstrations and proof-of-concept projects, including inspection, patrol and research configurations.

- 2026-09-27 - Market Signal - Raion Robotics outlines RAIBO3 prototype and production roadmap
The initial market focus is defence, followed by police and industrial-safety applications. The company plans capacity for up to 300 units in the second half of 2027. Its longer-range guidance calls for annual production of at least 1,000 units in 2028.
Source - 2026-09-07 - Demonstration - RAION Robotics and Korea Southern Power launch quadruped power-plant program
The Sept. 7 kickoff was held at Korea Southern Power’s Samcheok Bitdream plant and publicly announced Sept. 8. The program covers development and field demonstration for safety inspection in hazardous plant environments. The report does not name an exact RAION product, so the event remains company-level rather than being forced onto RAIBO2.
Source - 2024-11-17 - Demonstration - RAIBO2 completes full marathon without recharging
Raion Robotics records RAIBO2 as completing a full marathon without recharging in 4 hours, 19 minutes and 52 seconds. The demonstration is a hard field-mobility signal for long-duration quadruped operation rather than a short lab demo. Research data later reported the 42.195 km run used 1280 Wh from a 2016 Wh battery pack.
Source - 2024-04-03 - Funding - Raion Robotics secures seed investment from Company K Partners and FuturePlay
Raion Robotics received seed funding from Company K Partners and FuturePlay. The funding was framed around walking-robot technology, product development and production preparation. The article links the company to KAIST researchers and the RAIBO2 quadruped platform.
Source - 2023-10-01 - Company Formation - Raion Robotics spins out of KAIST RAILAB
Raion Robotics says it spun out of KAIST RAILAB in 2023 to bring locomotion research into field-ready robot products. The company established its headquarters in Daejeon and began building around in-house hardware design and control algorithms. The founding history anchors Raion as a KAIST-linked quadruped builder rather than a generic inspection-robot reseller.
