Reach Power
About
About Reach Power
Reach Power develops wireless power-at-a-distance infrastructure built around RF transmitters, compact receivers and adaptive beam control. The system can direct energy to drones, unattended sensors, mobile robots and industrial equipment, supporting continuous operation without a physical tether or repeated manual battery changes.
Founded in 2015 and headquartered in Redwood City, Reach serves defence, public-safety, manufacturing and logistics programmes. It has demonstrated multi-hour powered drone flight, persistent sensor operation and power delivery through obstructed environments. Its architecture combines meshed transmitters, device tracking and software-controlled allocation across multiple receivers.

- 2026-08-04 - Award - Reach Power and NIMBUS Lab win AFWERX study for wirelessly powered perched drones
The programme combines Reach Power wireless energy delivery with NIMBUS research on aerial robots that can perch on structures. Perching reduces propulsion demand while wireless power can extend the duration of communications and ISR missions. The Phase I award funds feasibility work rather than a production purchase or operational deployment.
