About Reliable Robotics
Reliable Robotics develops aircraft automation together with the remote-pilot systems needed to supervise it. Its work uses modified conventional aircraft, connecting onboard flight control with a ground control centre. Development therefore includes the aircraft installation, pilot interface and information needed to operate alongside other air traffic.
NASA described one example in January 2025: a Reliable pilot in Mountain View directed a Cessna 208 flight at Hollister, more than 50 miles away, with a safety pilot aboard. The test evaluated ground-based radar that sent nearby-traffic information to the remote pilot during taxi, takeoff and landing. Such trials examine how remote operations can fit into shared airspace and provide evidence for future operating requirements.
