The business began as Revolution Flight in 2006 and moved into aerial survey operations in 2010. It now trades as Revolution Geosystems under Revolution Flight Group, with headquarters and flight operations in Huntsville and additional bases supporting remote-sensing work.
Revolution combines aircraft operations, sensor rental, field crews and data-acquisition expertise for customers that need geospatial capture without owning the complete aviation stack. Its 2026 acquisition of Phoenix LiDAR Systems added configurable mobile-mapping payloads and processing software. That structure places Revolution in Korthos as survey infrastructure and an operator-integrator, while Phoenix remains the component and product brand.

Phoenix customers were promised continued support for existing products and an expanded future roadmap. The combined offering adds mission planning, data processing and analysis to Revolution’s aviation and equipment services. Phoenix CEO Rob Dannenberg said the transaction would scale the company’s technology to a broader professional audience.

ClearSkies retained its equipment brokerage and rental business while Revolution Flight retained aircraft wet-lease and maintenance services. The combined offer lets clients source survey aircraft and specialized sensors through one provider. The companies said their working relationship had already operated informally for about 18 months before the transaction.
