About Saft
Saft traces its industrial battery operations to 1918 and today operates as a wholly owned TotalEnergies subsidiary. The company designs cells, modules and complete battery systems for safety-critical and long-life applications across land, sea, air and space, supported by 16 manufacturing sites.
Its robotics relevance is established by a named production supply relationship. Saft developed custom MP176065 xec lithium-ion packs for Enchanted Tools’ Mirokai service robots, engineering the energy system around the platform's runtime, packaging and safety requirements. Saft is tracked as a power-system supplier to robot OEMs, while its much larger aviation, rail, defence and stationary-storage businesses remain outside that scope.

- 2015-09-15 - Commercial Order - Saft wins first STEP Robotics lithium-cell order
The cells preserve robot-position data while systems are powered down so operation can resume from the stored position. Saft said the cells provide more than three years of backup power, exceeding the robots’ expected 24,000-hour service life. The order marked Saft’s entry into China’s industrial-robotics market.
