About Scalable Robotics
ScalableArc lets a welder program an industrial robot by selecting the desired weld path rather than writing robot code or preparing a CAD model. The robot first scans the workpiece, the operator clicks the path, and the software refines and verifies the trajectory before welding.
The workflow is intended to make robotic welding practical for high-mix, low-volume parts whose variation and short runs make conventional offline or pendant programming uneconomic. Scalable Robotics says the approach reduces programming from days to minutes and robot training from weeks to hours, while accommodating part variation and reducing complex fixturing. The company also packages the software in a mobile welding-cobot cart for shop-floor deployment.

Scalable Robotics demonstrated its code-free point-and-click robotic welding system in Newport News, Virginia. Welders used the interface to instruct a robot to execute multiple precision welds. The software runs on commercial industrial-robot hardware and targets continuous processes including arc welding and painting.
